Food labels in chaos. CIBUS talks about this
7 May 2018
Today begins May 7, the 19th edition of CIBUS, the international food fair, the landmark event of Italian agribusiness.
Tomorrow at 2 pm, in Hall 4.1 there will be a discussion on the labeling of food products: Food labels in chaos: from 'national champions' to shared rules in Europe'
A sensitive issue for the entire agro-industrial chain called to find a common position to defend in the European panorama. The various national regulations, the English 'traffic lights' and the French 'nutriscore' are in fact putting the holding of the single market at risk just as the European Union is trying hard to build a common regulation.
The meeting will be attended by Daniele Bianchi, the European Commission legal service, Roberto Moncalvo, president of Coldiretti, Cosimo de Sortis, president of Italmopa, and Luigi Cristiano Laurenza, secretary of Pastai di Aidepi, association of Italian sweet and pasta industries.
