16 February 2018
The Ministry of Health, announced the new guidelines.
Marketing Authorization Holders (AICs) are required to make the best use of the space available on the package to ensure that all information is clear and legible. Last December 7, the Committee for Veterinary Medicines (CVMP) and the Coordination Group for Mutual Recognition and Decentralized Procedures (CMDv) adopted two new guidelines:
- "QRD guidance on the use of approved centralized (CP), mutual recognition (MRP) and decentralized procedures (DCP)", developed together with industry stakeholders. It provides guidance on the use of pictograms on the labels of veterinary medicines.
- "Quick Response (QR) codes in the labeling and / or package leaflet of veterinary medicinal products authorized by the centralized (CP), mutual recognition (MRP), decentralized procedures (DCP) and national procedures" to provide quick information on the proper use of medicines to veterinarians and animal owners.
The guidelines for the preparation of the Summary of Product Characteristics and Illustrative Brochures are available on the website.
